Who We Are

Black Dog Military Antiques was formed in the summer of 2020 as one of my retirement jobs.  After just over 20 years in the military and starting my second career in government, this is just a side gig that may go full-time after my next retirement.

The main goal was to thin out the years of collecting WW1 and WW2 militaria in our basement, help my friends find some good deals for their own collections, and fund new acquisitions for my work with the NGP History Project.

Make sure that you "like" and "follow" our accounts on Facebook and Instagram so that you can stay in the know, and find out where we'll be!

You'll typically see stuff listed on social media before it hits eBay, Etsy and this website.

Rosie

The Original Black Dog

This company was named for Rosie, the original black dog.  Rosie was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, serving 12 years at a busy U.S. Coast Guard station on the Chesapeake Bay. She advanced up through the ranks to Chief Dog before preceding me in retirement to start her new civilian life in Pennsylvania.

Looking for a new career to fill the spaces between naps, eating, treats, and gardening, Rosie became the mascot for Black Dog Military Antiques, and her silhouette would become our logo.  Rosie would enjoy nearly four years of retirement before losing her fight with cancer in 2021.
