WW2 Trench Checkers Game Set
This example was produced by the USO, re-booting a WW1 classic for the current war. The packet measure approximately 8" x 4-1/2", with the board measuring approximately 8" x 8" when unfolded. Contained in the paper sleeve is a game board for tic-tac-toe, checkers, and chess, with pieces suitable for each game being removed from the rigid frame that contains them.
These games were made to be disposable, a quick amusement for service members who were waiting for connecting transportation, or for something to do on the way to their next destination. The paper sleeve is in rough shape, but the playing board would be rated at good. The hinge is in good shape, but it is starting to get weak on the one end. It doesn't effect game play, just showing its age. All game pieces are present. These are typically sold at inflated prices, so here's your chance to get a decent game set without giving an arm and leg for it!
